Amul Milk DMS - Mobile applica 5.2

This review evaluates the recently released mobile application designed for Android users, which facilitates the ordering process for AMDs (Area Marketing Distributors). With a compact size of 1.25 MB, the app is currently available for installation via a provided link, and it is expected to be listed on the Google Play Store shortly.

The initial user setup requires the AMD SAP code, a seven-digit numeric identifier, along with a default password of “user.” It is necessary for the MOM (Manager of Operations) to furnish a list of AMDs to the Head Office/Information Systems Department in a specified Excel format for one-time activation. Users have the capability to change their passwords through the app using the Menu -> Change Password option.

The app presents two primary options for AMDs when placing SKU-wise orders: at the AMD level and at the Retailer level, as maintained by the MMO (Market Management Officer) in the portal. Users can access a list of all SKUs along with their respective prices per crate under Menu -> Add Favourite. This functionality enables AMDs to select and order products efficiently, with product sequences aligned with those found in SAP.

Within the Menu -> Profile, users can view their name, available credit limit balance, and crate balance, all updated in real-time through integration with SAP. A "Check Balance" button is available to refresh these figures. The Assigned Vehicle section displays vehicles allocated to AMDs in SAP; however, it requires ongoing maintenance of vehicle data by the MMO on the portal.

The application encourages users not to sign out, as doing so results in the loss of all stored data. To create an order template at the AMD level, users must select the “Order” button. Subsequently, they can enter SKU-wise quantities in crates and save this data. Multiple order templates are permissible but will be deleted upon signing out.

When ready to place an order, users can select “Review” after creating their templates. They can edit quantities or add new SKUs before finalizing the order by clicking “Place order” and selecting a vehicle number. It's important to note that each AMD can only place one order per day for any single vehicle but can place orders across different vehicles.

The application necessitates internet connectivity during the ordering process. Should an order exceed the available credit limit, a warning message will be displayed. Additionally, at the Retailer level, users can create new retailers in-app and assign channels akin to DMS procedures. A feature for copying previous day's orders for modification has been included to streamline manual entry processes.

More updates are anticipated as certain features are currently under development, including notification functionalities, account and crate ledgers, multiple accounts within a single login, and time restrictions on MMO-wise orders. Overall, this application appears to be a promising tool for streamlining order management for AMDs.
